Art Vandervest, along with Mike Tuma, Dave Reynolds and myself (John Faires) joined the United States Marine Corps two weeks out of high school (June 1964). We all went through bootcamp in San Diego which was 3 months long at that time, followed by 4 weeks of Infantry Training  at Camp Pendelton, California. We all served in Viet Nam. I lost touch with Art following our seperate assignments shortly thereafter but always wondered what happened with him following his discharge. I did some follow up research and found the following obituary. Sleep well my friend. John Faires  jrfaires45@comcast.net
