Bonne and I met in 4th grade at Trinity Lutheran School. Later on, she came back to our school and we became fast friends again. One evening she was leaving the Macomb Mall, after buying a wedding present for a friend and a drunk driver (thinking he was still on the expressway) ran the light and hit Bonne full speed. She left the car on impact. She was engaged to a man stationed in Viet Nam and he was released to be able to come to her funeral. They were to be married shortly after. I never forgot her, it was traumatic for me to see this young Bonne's life ended so soon. I still miss her.
